Location
Nestled in the Gadsisar Lake district of Jaisalmer, the smoke-free Hotel Deep Mahal Jaisalmer is only 1 km from the Gadsisar Sagar Lake. The fantastic hotel features bicycle tours and camel riding for a more entertaining stay.
This bed & breakfast is about 5 km from Jaisalmer airport and within reach of such cultural venues as the Desert Cultural Centre. The Jaisalmer Fort is merely a 13-minute walk from the Deep Mahal, while Air Force Circle bus stop is nearly 5 minutes' walk away. There is the Kothari's Patwa Haveli a short way from the property.
This Jaisalmer hotel offers 11 rooms, some of them feature high-speed internet, as well as comforts such as ironing facilities and an air conditioner. Furnished with a writing desk, these rooms have a balcony and a terrace. For more comfort, a hair dryer and bathrobes, along with a separate toilet and a shower, are provided.
The Deep Mahal Jaisalmer features a continental breakfast. Experience Indian dishes at the Indian Deep Mahal restaurant onsite. You can visit a restaurant situated close by and taste Italian cuisine.
Review by hotel critic
Hotel Deep Mahal & Safari is a charming family-run boutique hotel nestled within the breathtaking Fort of Jaisalmer, just a stone's throw away from the bustling local market. The rooms, though two out of three were excellent, were spacious and tastefully decorated, providing a cozy seating area for two and a well-equipped en suite bathroom with complimentary toiletries. The rich heritage of the property shines through its original structure, creating an authentic experience for guests. The hotel offers a range of services including massage facilities, camel riding excursions, and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the property. Guests can make use of the bicycle rentals to explore the historic surroundings at their own pace. The rooftop restaurant at Deep Mahal serves a delightful array of dishes, allowing guests to savor their meals while enjoying panoramic views of the Jain Temple located just a stone's throw away. The personalized attention from the friendly staff, notably Johnny Bhai and Gudduji, added a special touch to our stay, ensuring a memorable experience. Despite being located within the ancient fort, the property is conveniently situated, with the city's sunset point, railway station, and bus station all within easy reach. The hotel's commitment to sustainability is commendable, with initiatives in place to protect the heritage site and minimize environmental impact. I highly recommend this hotel for travelers looking for a unique and immersive cultural experience in the heart of Rajasthan.
